Expansion of local Conservation Park

Expansion of local Conservation Park Main Image

On 6th July 2024, the formal declaration of an additional 213 hectares to Daisy Hill Conservation Park was announced.

This now connects Venman Bushland National Park to Daisy Hill Conservation Park.

From the peaks of what was known as Oakey Mountain to its gullys and rainforests, this land has been cared for by the Shailer Family for over a century.

Now it'll be protected for generations to come.

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will now work to install new fences, fire trails and signage, as well as clearing weeds and removing old infrastructure, to make way for visitors.
